Ripper Cares
We just wanted to let you know that besides eating nails, Ripper
cares. That’s why we want to tell you that Ripperhockey.com supports
Prostate Cancer Canada in helping to raise money for research.
Take a moment to watch this short video of the Fathers Day Run held in
Toronto this year.
Let’s face it we don’t like to talk about this stuff much, but it’s
important for us beer leaguers to stay informed.
Have you been checked lately – Prostate Cancer Canada wants to know.
The penalty if you haven’t – your health and possibly a permanent seat
on the sideline.
Prostate Cancer is on the rise, with cases turning up in men as early as
40 and younger. Did you know that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with
prostate cancer in his lifetime. This year alone, 4,400 men will die of
the disease. Men don’t talk about it, it doesn’t come up in casual
conversation and definitely not in the locker room; but it should, early
detection is the key. If detected and treated in the earliest stages,
prostate cancer is over 90% curable. This means yearly check ups! Talk
to your doctor.
Prostate Cancer Canada raises funds for the development of programs
related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those
affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and
cure of prostate cancer.
